About Thunderbird

Thunderbird School of Global Management

Established in 1946, Thunderbird was the first school to focus exclusively on international business education, as well as the first to recognize that the emerging global economy – a complex, continually flowing, constantly evolving network of information, goods, cultures and peoples – would be led by a new breed of global business managers.

The Leader in Global Business Education

Over sixty years later, Thunderbird is still the best in the business of graduating global leaders. For more than a decade, Thunderbird has been ranked the #1 Graduate Program in International Business by U.S. News & World Report. Thunderbird is also ranked #1 in International Business by The Wall Street Journal/Harris Interactive 2007 Survey of Corporate Recruiters and #1 in International Business by Financial Times 2008.

Thunderbird consistently ranks among the best in global business education and remains among the top business schools worldwide.

Located in Glendale, Arizona, Thunderbird had its roots in international training even before its inception in 1946. The graduate school is built on the Thunderbird field, a historic air base established to train U.S., Canadian, British and Chinese pilots during World War II.

While Thunderbird has seen impressive expansion over the years, the school's legacy is also rich in history and technological and educational evolution. Today Thunderbird operates overseas facilities and business-partnering programs in Europe, Russia, Asia, North America and South America, offering full-time MBA programs, as well as custom-designed programs, open-enrollment seminars, partnership programs, an Executive MBA program and on-campus and online certificate programs. Thunderbird also maintains a professional global alumni network of more than 35,000 alumni in 135 different countries, who play leading roles in 15,000 corporations, governmental and non-governmental organizations.
